I am a coach, leader, and creator of things. I bring integrity, truth, and enthusiasm to all that I do. I love life and get a thrill out of the small sweet stuff as well as the grand mind-blowing thrills in life. I have a soft spot for caregivers and desire to do things, big and small, to make a difference for them. You will learn more about my activities and passions by getting to know me through this website, or by working with me.
I was born in Nova Scotia and still consider myself a "Bluenoser". This view is from our backyard and was taken by my sister, Shannon, during a trip home one summer. It is the BluenoseII making her way up the Pictou Harbour. In spite of loving the west, and living here most of my adult life, I still call Nova Scotia home.
I am thrilled to have retired from a career I loved--nursing, teaching, entrepreneuring, and researching to live a more creative life doing more of what I love. I am blessed to spend more time with my husband and our son, more time in my studio writing and creating, and more time doing the things an author needs to do like speaking, book launching, and engaging with the public on things that matter about family caregiving.
I am hopeful we can do so much better as a society when it comes to family caregivers. I spend my volunteer hours with Caregivers Alberta and invite you to check them out.
“We know only too well that what we are doing is nothing more than a drop in the ocean.
But if the drop were not there, the ocean would be missing something.”
