HOW TO GET THERE:
The retreat price does not include transportation to and from the resort.
Most major airlines fly into Providenciales (Airport code is PLS) (the name of the Turks and Caicos Island where we are located). You can rent a car or take a taxi (most will do a grocery store stop) if you like.
The island is very small (26 miles long and quite narrow) so getting around is easy.
Car rental, taxi and grocery services will be provided on registration.
We request that all attendees stay on location.
Click the link below for further links to book your accommodation directly with the resort staff.
If you are a single and want to share we will do our best to link you up with another attendee.

A little about Kim...
An author and speaker, Kim is a champion for family caregiving. A former professor, clinician scientist, and nurse entrepreneur she researched and published on topics like family caregiving, home care, case management, and related health policy. Kim retired from her full time to career to pursue a Master of Fine arts degree in creative non-fiction and live a more creative life.
An entrepreneur at heart, Kim provides executive and life coaching to individuals; leads workshops, strategic planning and development sessions, creative visioning, and round tables to organizations and businesses to help them achieve their goals; but chooses to devote most of her working life to writing.
Kim loves to travel and leads her two sisters (afterall, she is the oldest ;-) ) on fabulous annual sister trips. Kim is a 500-hour certified yoga teacher. When not writing, retreating, or doing yoga, she usually hangs out in her studio making jewelry, fibre arts, and restyled wearable art¬ mostly from denim–her favorite fabric. Kim lives in rural Strathcona County with her husband, soon to launch son, and ever fluctuating cadre of pets.
Watch for her forthcoming book,
The Accidental Caregiver
published by Sutherland House to be released October 5, 2022
Together, Kim and Kathy will lead you over four nourishing days through movement and mindful activities.
Kathy's focus is on yoga and meditation, boxing, and mindful activities. Kathy has brought various fitness classes to all ages and ability through workshops, classes and retreats. Among other responsibilities, Kathy will lead us in yoga, fitness and boxing sessions with attention to fun, camaraderie, and empowerment.
Kim's focus is on yoga and meditation, writing, and mindful activities. Kim is natural facilitator and has led group activities for several years, offers coaching and instruction in writing and other creative endeavours. Among other responsibilities, Kim lead us in yoga, mindfulness, and writing/journaling sessions in a fun, reflective, accessible practice with tips and prompts to support mindful practices when you go back home.
Together, we've got you covered!
Please reach out to Kim or Kathy if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Bring your own water bottle, coffee mug, and yoga mat (or you are welcome to use a beach towels–many of us do!).
You will want sneakers for fitness and, if you prefer something on your feet on beach walks, sandals or flip flops are recommended.
All meals and snacks are provided during the retreat, but most of us have a few things we like to have in our room. You might consider what you want to bring from home–for your must-have favourites, otherwise the grocery stores are well stocked with plenty of variety but expect to pay slightly higher prices than home, given it is an island.
Bring the usual items you might take for a Caribbean get away: sunscreen, sunglasses, sun hat, and so on (bug spray but it is only needed sometimes).
Simple comfy clothing. Other than at yoga or fitness where we tend wear shorts or yoga clothes, we usually hang out in beach wear, cover-ups, or a simple sun dress. Anything to stay cool and comfortable. The weather is pretty consistent–beautiful and warm.
This is a women's movement and mindfulness retreat. We expect those who come want to be here and are comfortable with the schedule and activities that are structured for all levels and abilities. We expect everyone to participate in all of the offerings as together everyone achieves benefits in being in retreat together.
However, this retreat might not be for you if any of the following apply to you:
You do not like participating in a group.
You want a girls trip for shopping in Grace Bay.
(but, you can extend your stay to do this and enjoy all the other great things on the island!)
You have special meal needs or food preferences.
You just want to do your own thing.
Turks and Caicos Islands are an archipelago of 40 islands, 8 of which are inhabited. the capital is Grand Turk. The retreat is on Providenciales, the most inhabited island. The local residents are called Belongers.
There are several great websites where you can learn about the rich history of the islands and what you can do on a holiday. Other than searching Turks and Caicos Islands and so on, here are a few key link
And yes, it really is as beautiful as the pictures. No question.
In addition to the activities listed on the retreat schedule, we can promise you a great retreat in the Turks and Caicos Islands with activities led by experienced retreat leaders certified in their respective fields.
Although there are activities planned each day, there are periods of solo time for you to enjoy silence, a private walk, time to write or journal, or have a nap.
Meal times are scheduled and we will eat together.
On alcoholic beverages: we chose to not serve alcohol during the retreat days as it is indeed a period of retreat. We are not against alcohol, and enjoy a glass as well; we just chose to not make it part of the retreat offerings. You are welcome to bring your own and enjoy it in your room, balcony, property, and so on when we are not retreating together.
Your 400 CDN deposit is non-refundable.
A transfer to a friend may occur up to 30 days prior to the start of the retreat if you are unable to attend if:
There are no refunds after 60 days prior to any retreat. We will always do our best to accommodate your needs where feasible. Our retreat success depends on commitment from a small number in order for all to benefit.
If you need to cancel and have a friend who can take your place please email Kim or Kathy.
Join us to deepen your wellness in this beautiful by nature secluded piece of paradise.
